The excavations of Pompeii are extraordinary material evidence of the ancient world, thanks to the state of preservation of the city, which remained practically intact after the eruption of 79 A.D. erased it from the Vesuvian landscape.Tons of ash, pumice and lapilli covered the city under a layer of over 6 meters preserving it, at the same time, from most of the ravages of time.
